Recently I received an order to create a special Caricature Guest Signing Board to celebrate an 18th Birthday. It was going to be completely different from all my previous creations and I was loving the challenge.

This caricature was created for Saoirse to celebrate her 18th birthday. I was informed that she was just completing her leaving certificate exams and was also a huge fan of the Japanese style of animation or Anime.

I created a caricature of Saoirse as her favorite Anime character and based on the anime style. I placed a Leaving Certificate scroll in one hand and a graduation hat bouncing off her head.

In the background I created a Japanese garden using a soft pallet of colours, not like any of my previous work. Lilac, white and purple blossoms cascading over a shadowy river with an arched silver bridge. The background complimented the caricature in the foreground and helped make it a feature without being too busy.

This is what it looked like when it was mounted. The mount has plenty of space for all the guests signatures and well wishes.
